Start Your Day With a Smile!
Who couldn't use a morning mood-lifter? Here are some great ideas from Kathleen
Hall, Founder of the Stress Institute
For a more soothing wake-up call, set your alarm clock to a classical station
rather than the screeching alarm. Even better: Try an alarm clock that uses
natural sounds, like running water or falling rain. Pleasant outdoor sounds
trigger a mood-lifting endorphin release, explains Hall, which will help start
your day in a happy way.
Give your body a boost by cleansing with citrus or lavender soap or body scrub.
These uplifting essential oils perk up your senses and fight fatigue.
Post a happy thought (like "The best things in life are free" or simply
the word "breathe") on your shower door. Each day, it will remind
you to focus on the positive things in your life.
Don't skip breakfast: It stabalizes blood sugar (keeping you from feeling cranky)
and restores your energy. Try adding bananas and mangoes to your cereal - both
are loaded with mood and brain boosting B vitamins.
