Cheers For Cheyanne
Cheyanne is a 9 year old little girl who is my hero. Cheyanne was out with her father in his truck last week and her father began to have a heart attack. This amazing little girl grabbed the cell phone to call 911 but saw there was no phone service available. In freezing weather, while her father was having a heart attack, she had the presence to get behind the wheel of her car and drive her father to a place where she could get phone service and summon help. She grew up in the country and had learned to drive a truck on their property and knew exactly what to do. Our daughters learned to drive our jeep and trucks when they were small on our farm, Oak Haven. I was alone with my small daughters most of the time and taught them the steps to take in the case of an emergency. Those of us that live in the woods realize how easy it can be to get bitten by a snake, fall off a horse or have a severe cut and need the help of your child. I was touched when I heard this because Cheyanne reminded me of my daughters and the training we went through for that, "just in case emergency." Each of us need to take a refresher lesson from Cheyanne and teach our children how to handle an emergency. This incredible girl was brilliant and courageous enough to drive a truck by herself and kudos to her parents for teaching her survival methods.
