WHAT IS THE LADIES FIRST FITNESS
PROGRAM?
The Ladies First
fitness
program was designed to give our ladies a complete aerobic
and
anaerobic workout in just 30 minutes. Resistance training is necessary
to increase lean body mass (muscle density or size).
Endurance
training is necessary to increase aerobic function. Many people
may be participating in programs that focus mainly
on
aerobic function or bodybuilding; however, neither gives a complete
training effect. Our program increases physical endurance
and
strength while simultaneously increasing lean body weight and
reducing body fat. The way we accomplish this is through the use
of hydraulic resistance equipment in a circuit training program.
WHAT IS CIRCUIT TRAINING?
Circuit training can be defined
as
a variety of exercises performed in an interval sequence. Circuit
training is a form of interval training - an exercise program
that alternates exercise with recovery. Circuit training is designed
to progressively overload all the major muscles of your body,
burn calories at a high rate and increase the heart rate to the
training zone for 30 minutes and is adaptable to various levels of fitness.
WHY DOES LADIES FIRST USE HYDRAULIC
RESISTANCE EQUIPMENT?
Hydraulic
resistance is superior to all other types of resistance (weight
stack, pneumatics, electromagnetic, etc.) for use in an interval
circuit format.
Hydraulic resistance is the only type of resistance that is "accommodating" in
nature. That is, the resistance matches the effort of the user,
even as the user fatigues during exercise. The principle is similar
to aquatics; the faster one tries to move the fluid, the greater
the resistance. As the user fatigues during the exercise interval,
the resistance is reduced to exactly match the force.
Since hydraulic resistance is double-concentric (positive),
each machine is actually two machines in one, working opposing
muscle groups in a push/pull manner. More muscle mass is employed
on each machine and more calories are burned in the same time
interval than any other circuit program. Also, since there is
no eccentric or negative resistance, there is no fixed load as
with all other types of resistance. This greatly reduces the
chance of injury, eliminates muscle soreness and creates a non-intimidating
system for the deconditioned member.
